Fordson Super Dexta Transmission Problems

i have been having problems with the transmission in my fordson super dexta. the "H" shifter for the gear selector wears out and needs to be rebuilt with brass about once a year. i just wanted to know if anoyone else has this problem, or if its normal.
any and all input to this is appreciated.

This is a aproblem with dextas that have done a bit of work. The bottom of the gearstick needs to be built up with braze or weld and then ground back to shape so it fits in nice and snug to the holders on top of the selector.

I f the tractor "sticks in gear" lift of the cover plate and line up the two holders to allow the bottom of the gearstick back in this can be done witha alonghandled screwdriver.

A tip to prevent sticking in gear is to be gentle with gear changes and dont be too rough changing up or down

yessir it's very normal. I weld instead of braze the shifter ball and it's good to go then for several years
