The engine rebuild of my newly acquire 1964 Super Dexta was inevitable but and its finally come I think.

Was out rolling the field with her today with a little smoke from breather but hen about half way through (2 acres) the smoke from the breather became whiter than usual so I stop her and towed her back up to her new shed (that isnt finished yet). Is this bad news?

Think I'll be ordering a rebuild kit soon. Have noticed most places that advertise ask for bearing sizes do they differ!! how can i tell or do i need to have her apart to measure them before ordering?

your white smoke coming out of the breather is caused by excessive blowby. If it runs and starts, keep going you can't do more damage than what's already there. When it starts pushing out out the dipstick I think it's time to stop

I can't help you with much with the diagnosis of white smoke. Try posting on the Ford board, there are some sharp mechanics that could be of help. I've also noticed the different kits to order. I'm fortunate to have a good reasonable machine shop here that helps me. I always tear things down and let them spec the parts. If a shop specs the parts it will delay the rebuild, but you will have the right parts. LOL
