I have recently got my hands on a Fordson Major Diesel tractor. It has a 4 cyl diesel engine. Have looked for the serial # in all the places that I have been told to look and can't seem to find it. Could someone be more specific on the location of it...Thank You

You've probably already looked here but: If it's and early model, On the left side of the engine, the starter is bolted to the castings. The top of that casting that it is bolted to is flat and about 5/8" wide. On that flat spot, under the dirt, grime, and grease you may find the numbers stamped vertically. They are kind of cursive and may be filled with paint from the factory. I had to scrub at mine with a toothbrush and solvent to really read them well. The 1's and 7's were kinda hard to distinguish. If you find them, post em back and somebody can give you a month/year.
Good Luck, Jerry
