I have recently purchased a Super Major as is. I am not familiar with complete workings but I have found that the 3PL will only lift when the PTO is engaged and will not drop. I have to dis-engage PTO and bleed off pressure to drop. What is wrong and how do I fix this?

My Super Major has no lift but my study of the manuals seems to indicate that yours is working properly. The pump is driven from the PTO shaft in the bottom of the housing. I don't think there is any power down function so you have to have enough weight on the lift to pull it down when the hydraulic pressure is released.

Maybe someone else can give you a better answer.

Thank you for your reply Don. My knowledge hasn't improved much since posting the problem but I have had a slasher hooked up and me standing on it and it still won't fall. The pressure is not being released to allow it to fall. I have learnt that there is a thing called a HPL Yoke and Spring missing from the Qualitrol Rocker where the Top Link joins on. I hope that makes sense to you. I am going to pull apart the housing under the seat and see if I can atleast try to understand how it works. Thanks again.
