I am unable to source the bushes for the clutch cross shaft on a Super Dexta that I am overhauling. The sizes are 7/8" ID x 15/16" OD x 1 1/2" long. The only way I can see to get around this problem is to machine a sized brass bush & then drill & tap the housing to install a grease nipple so that lubrication can be supplied to the bush & shaft. I have to build up the shaft where she has worn over the years. Has anyone done this job satisfactorily a different way? Or does anyone know of a part from another source that fits this requirement. Non of the suppliers around here ( read east coast of Australia) can supply the required sized split bush. The original bush type has an impregnated coating that serves as lubrication. This should be a half hour remove & reinstall with the correct parts. I'ts taken a whole week of driving & telephoning to get nowhere so far. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Cheers

I've ended up reaming out the bellhousing holes for the clutch cross shaft to 1". Bushes that size were easy to get & came with a new fangled compound imbedded for lubrication. She shouldn't need that job doing fo another 40 years now. Just as a matter of interest Burrhead, as the standard bushes are easy to get around your way, any chance you can come up with a manufacturers name? Cheers in advance.

That's a pretty standard size bushing and are easy to find around here. most all the machine shops have the bushings.

That is a common problem on these machines. I am pretty sure that Zafer would have those.
