Okay guys now I may be in over my head.My injector pump is back from rebuilder, but now I can't find a coupler assembly.I have the fiber disc,Which has so far been the only part any Ford New holland dealer in Missouri has for a 1964 super major 5000.I may take a trip to the UK some weekend and load up on parts for my little lady.; Anyway just wondering if any of you Fordson specialists know what will be involved with replacing with a used coupler assembly, maybe even one from a earlier model . My Ford 5000 diesel is a 1964 with mechanical gov. Simms Minimec pump,I know a guy that has some couplers off a 1962 Super Major it has a Simms vacuum gov. pump will these interchange. If so do I really have to send pump and coupler back to injector shop to have timing mark located I do notice a diffence in timing indicator tab, mine being on 12 oclock position the earlier model at 9 oclock. Is this really going to be this difficult or am I looking in the wrong direction.

Thanks for your understanding help Jeff in Missouri USA also A big Thank You to Thomas Bittner operator of Stateline Diesel for the very professional and prompt service of my injector pump,Turned out great and you must call him if in need of rebuild you will love his pricing

Check with these guys. They are located in Canada and have had several parts that I have needed for my '63 FSM.

Jeff

You cannot use the coupling from the early vac gov pump with a Minimec. There must be wreckers in the US that can help. If not, search the uk on the net. I can give you adresses of wreckers here in Australia that can help.

Could you send a picture of coupling required? We wreck Fordsons and have been dealers in Australia, for over 30 years, so may be able to assist with some parts

I don't have the original coupler ,I went by the Ford Newholland dealer and got a parts breakdown of this coupler assembly. it shows the coupler I need for 1952 thru 1962 only mine is a 1964 "FORD DIESEL 5000" The piece I need is the coupler that is attached to the injector pump, the shaft that this attaches to is tapered And requires a half moon key. the Ford part number of the wrong one 1952-62 is listed as E1ADDN993187,apparently the shaft size or maybe thickness of early coupler differs from later model. would love to hear back from you if you think you might have this or any other parts for this tractor Jeff Parks

Hi, I am presuming the coupling you need has a rubber block in centre (other one was fibre/composition type) Shaft size on coupling is approx. 13/16" - coupling is approx. 2 5/8" long. What other parts are you looking for? Where are you located? Leo
