Clutch Pedal Bush

I removed the Clutch pedal, and replaced the internal bush. However, I cannot re-assemble it. I cannot get the Clutch pedal to slide onto the Through-shaft ( probably the new bushing has closed a little when being pressed into the Clutch pedal ).
I need to ream out the bush a little, in a workshop environment, not in the paddock!!
Can I simply remove the two brake-pedals from the RHS of the "Through-shaft", and withdraw the "Through - shaft" from the Gearbox Housing, via the Brake pedals side of the Gearbox Housing. Does the Through-shaft rotate in bushings or needle rollers. Will any "guts" drop out into the gearbox, or Cluth shaft housing, if I attempt to do this, or is this a safe dis-assembly procedure for this item, on a Power Major (1960).
I would appreciate all and any ideas on this.

Regards,

Les Taylor.

The shaft just slides out of the housing. However!!!...you will need to drain the oil from the final drive first or it will all run out when you remove the shaft.
