I recently purchased a old Fordson that has been sitting in a field in Canada for who no,s how long and is belived to be frozen. What should I check first and how do I get it to spin? What were common problems with them? Also it appears to be missing the header pipe or did they run them that way? Also the carburator doesent look like the holly that I have seen in pictures, this carb is mounted down stream more toward the air box instead of above the exhaust manifold.
Any info would be appreciated.

CONGRATULATIONS! TO CHECK IF IT IS STUCK REMOVE SPARK PLUGS AND PUT THE GEARSHIFT IN NEUTRAL IF IT DOES,NT TURN OVER BY HAND SHES SEIZED. POUR SOME DIESEL DOWN THE PLUG HOLES AND WAIT A WEAK, AND IF IT DOES,NT TURN AFTER THAT REMOVE THE CYLINDER HEAD AND HAVE A LOOK TO SEE HOW BAD IT IS(MINE WAS PRETTY BAD) ALSO THERE WAS A LOT OF MANIFOLDS FOR THE FORDSONS YOURS COULD HAVE BEEN CHANGED TO A KINGSTON (FUEL BOWL ON THE SIDE OF THE EXHAUST) HOPE ANY OF THIS HELPS AND GOOD LUCK

Thanks for the info. I have a Case,Farmall and Porsche tractor, but I dont know much about Fordsons. Can you tell me things to look out for like Manifold problems or weak head gaskets? common problems with old Fordsons, things you had to go through to fix yours up. The Tractor has been sitting in a field in Alberta Cannada for a while. From pictures it appears to have been repainted. Also the air cleaner box is missing the cap and steering wheel is rotted away.
Any info would be appreciated.

Sincerely, Steve
