Hi all I was looking at a 1963 fordson super major with backhoe and front end loader the crank is damages the owner says the crank needs to be redone he is asking 3000 for the machine that is canadian about 2000.00 US my question is how hard is it to find parts for this and is it worth the money even a poor shape machine runs around 10000 up here in Canada. Any info would be great on a source for rebuid kits or whatever. Machine is in overall poor shape tires are worn out front pins and steering pretty loose no oil pressure on gauge. thanks

Rod, I just bought a '61 super major here in PA and paid $3000us for it. It too has a loader and backhoe on it. My front tires are worn out but tires are cheap. My steering is also loose, as well as several of the pivot points for the loader are worn. Oil pressure? I can read the gauge so i don't even know. ha ha. My tractor isn't prety but it runs well and has good hydraulics, that's the nost important.
The crank on the one you are looking at could be turned down, at any local machine shop, if it is bad. I'm not sure about where to get parts for the tractor itself, i'm going to start looking myself soon. Try some of the sources listed on this page or try at the following site:>Link
