I recently acquired a 3 cyl diesel Dexta with a rather large crack in the block behind the injection pump. Someone attempted to weld it and it is now probably beyond repair. Will a block from anything else fit it, where can I find one and what would be a fair price? Thanks!

Thanks for the advice. I guess I didn't make it clear in the original post just how balled up this thing is form someone's crude attempt at welding. I am an amatuer and haven't quite figured out how to post photos yet, but have aced the email concept and would be glad to send them out if anyone thinks they can help.

I have a 52 fergie TEA20 with a gas motor. The block is split from one end to the other. I drilled a hole in the rad cap, thru in some stop leak, and haven't seen adrop of glycol since. While obviously not permanent, its working for me. The perkins 144/152 have been installed in everything imaginable, so you should find one. Good luck, kev

The block from anything with the 144 or 152cid Perkins will work.

Perkins still uses them on power plants and junkyards have them from a Massey Ferguson and Ford both.

If you can get to the crack to clean it up real shiney NAPA or and Auto Paint Supply has some liquid aluminum in a can like Bondo that will seal the crack and you can smooth it back down for paint.

When it cures in about 24 hours it's like real metal

I used some on a big block Cummins diesel about 6 years ago and it is still leak free. HTH
