I am busy restoring a fordson F ser.no.61290(I'm not sure about the 290 because I'm at work)The dash casting date is 1919. I dont know which parts are original, but i am finding a lot out every day. My fordson has a kingston MD carburettor. It dosnt look like it should have it on on the pictures on the internet. Which one should it have on, and does it really matter. Will the wrong manifold fit onto such an old fordson block thus allowing the use of a different carburettor?.My tractor also has a distributer that runs on the gamgear(or the other one), and only one coil. It doesnt have a coil box. Should it have a distributer? i cant see how is can work without one, but i cant see one on any of the pics on the net. When did they stop using the ladder sides for the radiator? My model isa Aug 1919 model, and doesnt have ladder sides. Is it original?. Does the radiator tank on top have a casting dat on?. The the gamgear(and the other one), on which the distributer runs, has broken. This is what made the farmer stop using it. Why could it have broken? I dont want to replace it only to break again. I live in South Africa and have a lot of trouble getting the info. here. If you can help me I would really appreciate it.

ALL MANIFOLDS ON FORDSONS FROM1918 TO 1940 WILL INTERCHANGE SO IF ITS IN GOOD CONDITION DONT CHANGE IT ALSO THE FORDSON ORIGINALLY RAN ON TREMBLER COILS LIKE A MODEL T FORD BUT THE COILS USED TO PLAY UP SO THE FARMERS BOUGHT AFTERMARKET DISTRIBUTORS FOR THEM YOUR GEARS MIGHT HAVEBROKEN BECAUSE THE DISTRIBUTOR SHAFT IS TO WORN OR THE DISTRIBUTOR SEIZED IF YOU CHANGE IT BACK TO ORIGINAL TREMBLER COILS (THEIR IS 4 ONE PER CYLINDER YOU CAN USE A MODEL T 1917 TO 1927 FORD COILBOX AND COMMUTATOR

Thank you very much for replying. Will the carburettor and manifold go through as original?
