Super dexta charging problems

I have a '61 super dexta diesel 2000 that I can't keep a battery in. they all seem loose,drain or go dead.I have had starter,gen.,voltage reg and starter swt checked and /or replaced as well as the wiring.Can anyone out there tell me what could be wrong? 3cyl perkins engine,lucas gen.and english wired postive ground. any thoughts would be most helpful. thanks tony

Hey Tony, I'll tell you how to check if you have a battery drain. If you got a test light (it looks like a ice pick with a light bulb in it), make sure your key switch is off, then take off your ground from your tractors battery. Clamp your test light with the aligator clip to the battery terminal and the ice pick side to the battery. If the light comes on you have a battery drain. Now all you have to do is start unhooking things. Besure you hook everything back up if the light stays on. It will take some time, but you can find it this way.
