I have a model N which up until recently ran fine. I think the carb/vapouriser unit is blocked somewhere as whilst there is an excellent spark the plugs are not getting wet. It is a petrol/tvo model and I want to know any pitfalls I might find before I dismantle the vapouriser unit. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Andrew,
Nothing too serious I'm sure. Have been working it hard lately and I think that a load of crap from the tanks has found it's way past the sediment filter and into the carb. Pity as once under load it was running really well and pulling far harder than it's torque figures would suggest! I'll let you know what happens.

Hello Roland,

What happened?!
I read this every day without fail. I thought someone would be able to help you. I haven't ever pulled mine apart so can't really comment. The bloke I got mine from said more or less that getting them to seal without air leaks was an issue(where the bowl goes into the manifold assembly)? I have to choke my Ns severely to start them (compared to the small amount of choke required for my major with the later carburettor) so I guess it makes sense.

Anyway you could be leading the way with with the skills and knowledge this time! Good luck. I could pull mine apart but I try not to "fix it if it ain't broke".

Regards

Andrew

PS Let us (me) know how you go.
