Fordson Wheels

In addition to my 8N, I have a Fordson (I think probably 1925 or 1926). I'm finally getting around to thinking about restoring it, but it has steel wheels with the steel cleats on the rear and steel center ridge on the front. These could cause big problems with the concrete in the building where it's parked, not to mention the driveway. I want to keep the wheels original so I'd like to get an extra set with hard or neumatic rubber for use in moving it about. Alternatively, I'd consider the steel rim approach over the wheels with hard rubber if I could get them made in my area (Detroit). Any suggestions where I could pick these up, either approach? Thanks for your help! Vaughn

Take off the cleats and cut off the outer casing of an old rubber tractor tyre. Bolt this strip complete with lugs on your steel rims.
