Can anyone give some detals on this.
I found one with a cracked block, motor is loose, the tractor is missing the 3 point lift links and pull arms, and battery top and frt lights and brks. Otherwise it is in very good shape. Don L. at Austin Mn ph 507 433 0073

I once owned a 1950 E27N It was factory without 3 pt or Hydraulic. They were pretty good power with the gear drive rear end. The front head light brackets were selling for almost as much as the tractor at the time I bought it nicely running for $575. But, that was about 9years ago. i have since soldthe tractor but expect it on an estate auction later this September.

Don, it could be either The early e27n had a gas engine a ford built 267 with no sleeves and babbit mains. The Major used ford built 199 engine with Over head valves I believe but am not sure the early e27n was a flat head. CASEPOWER

I believe it to have a F Fordson engine in it. So the block should not be a big problem. It has a perfect alluminum grill in it. They must be the first thing to go. So here goes the famous question .....what is it worth now , and when it is running and driving , and lastly when it is restored????

The engine is the same as the N series from 1929 up the E27N was a higher rowcrop model that didn't use the worm gear drive and was styled. There were two different front ends. One adjustable and one fixed. It sounds crazy but from what I can find they made 236,470 total model E27Ns and 23,000 were diesel so if I done my math right that means they built 213,470 of them gas/TVO tractors. Most of them must have stayed in England. I had a Cork 1929 fordson and just was able to just about give it away. I hope you have better luck.

The E27 fordson engine is different that the "F" Fordson engine and the Blue and Orange Fordson N's that were imported. when the change to the Green N's occured in 1942 or 1943 the valve stem size was increased, head was modified, head gaskets are different, E27N has a provision for a starter, crankshafts are hard steel, not cast on a F or early N. there are other differences but to make a long story short it would be easier to repair your block of find a replacement than using a f or early n engine.
