I'm restoring a '59 Dexta and have found the temperature guage pipe has broken/ corroded off close to the guage. Is this repairable, or do I need to find a new one? The guage itself and the sensor look OK.

Does anyone know of somebody who could repair it in the UK Midlands?

I'm not sure but I would think that the gauge wire in not repairable.

The mechanical temperature gauges are actually pressure gauges with very small pipes connecting to hollow bulbs filled with liquid. The liquid is generally ether or other low boiling point compound. Repair of them can be accomplished but is rather specialized. In the US, some people advertise repair services in Hemmings Motor News. Hope this helps.
