1920 FORDSON F FUEL SYSTEM

CAN ANYBODY TELL ME HOW THE FUEL LINE RAN FROM THE
STARTING GAS TANK TO THE VAPORIZER AND HOW THE
FUEL LINE RAN FROM THE KEROSENE TANK TO THE VAPORIZER? MY MANUAL APPEARS TO SHOW THE GAS FUEL
LINE GOING DIRECTLY FROM THE GAS STARTING TANK, TO
THE VAPORIZER JUST BELOW THE AIR VALVE. THE MANUAL
SHOWS THE KEROSENE FUEL LINE GOING DIRECTLY FROM THE CAST IRON SEDIMENT BOWL TO THE FLOAT ASSEMBLY.
DOES THIS SEEM CORRECT? HOW DOES THE GAS FLOW UPHILL, IF THIS IS SO?

JUST WANTED TO ADD TO MY ORIGINAL POST.
MY 1920 FORDSON F HAS THE COMPLETE AND CORRECT
HOLLY VAPORIZER SYSTEM. THE WHOLE TRACTOR IS ORIGINAL AND COMPLETE, BUT SOMEONE MAY HAVE ALTERED THE FUEL LINES AT SOME POINT IN TIME.

The fuel line from the top (kerosene) tank goes to the fuel selector valve at the bottom of the small gasoline starting tank. It feeds into the valve from the back just ahead of the clutch lever. A short fuel line goes from the front of the fuel selector valve to the top of the carburetor. I can email you a .jpg image of the setup (Holley) on my '23 model if you wish.

If you have aquired a 1920 Fordson with an orginal fuel system, you are one fortunate guy. Sounds as if your fuel line or any other visable concerns can be resolved easily. Purchase a copy of the Fordson Archival Photo book by Peter Leturneau. This way you've got the original factory photos to work from vs guesswork. It is the most refered to Fordson document I own.
