Burrhead or Oscar need some help. I own a Dexta, 57 or 58 model, which was bought last year It has it's problems, which I am working on. Currently replacing the governor diaphragm and think I have it solved. Have other problem with the electrical system. Recently replaced a battery. When hooked battery up, the starter relay (solenoid) remained engaged and burned out along with the wire to the starter. The service manuals say Dexta's have a positive ground, however, when I pruchased the tractor, it had a negative ground. I replaced the battery grounding the negative terminal. Can an engines polarity be changed and how can I check the polarity to make certain the engine is grounded properly? Thanks, Larry Dorman Snyder, Arkansas (here in the middle of nowhere).
