1. The temperature sensor wire broke and I need to replace it.
2. The wire joins the sensor in the engine block to the gage that shows the temperature.
3. Does anybody know where I can get a replacement?
Thanks

You'll need to replace the whole assembly: sensor, wire and meter. The assembly is filled with wax. When the sensor heats up, the wax expands and makes the needle move up the scale.

I've seen people re-attach the ends of the broken wire. Not smart ;-).

Try your local New Holland dealer. Also, there are various advertisements around this website for parts.

Oscar, thanks for the reply.
1. I did exactly what you said not to do, which was to try to reconnect the broken wire with an electric connector. If the wire is a tube filled with wax, no wonder it still does not work.
2. I thought these sensors worked on electrical resistence that changes with temperature??
3. I had already gone to a local New Holland dealer. He could get me a Sparex replacement but the wire that connects the sensor to the gauge was too short for my purposes. Also the gauge had a simple green-orange-red indicator and in my marine application, I need to have a dial that measures degrees. Perhaps I will need to have a custom one made up?
4. The existing gage has the brand "SN"on it. Are you familiar with that brand and if so do you have the contact information?
5. Would all Fordsons from the 1960s era have the same sized space for the sensor or would I need to get a unit to fit my particular serial number? If so where do I find the serial number?
6. I have tried to access your Fordson pages but it comes back as unavailable and refresh does not work. I will keep trying.

Thanks, any further help is appreciated.
