I just bought the major diesel I was asking information about in other postings. Serial # from next to air cleaner is: 1374476, from the serial number listing here in YT, it must be from the year 1956. I was wondering what other information I could find out about it. Some other #s I found: Simms pump: SPE4A7OS380, On the rt side of block: E4, On left side of block: A18Z, with upside down P under it, with 5 under the P. Also, on a lot of the parts, it looks to be stamped with ENFO, was does this stand for? Is this a Perkins diesel (it is 4 cylinder)? If so, is that good? Engine was rebuilt 4 years ago and purrs nicely. Pops right to life and sounds great. One possible problem, the PTO sounds dry, but smooth when I turn it by hand. I would think it would run with fluid from the rear end/transmission. Is this true? I don't see anyway to check it without taking off the rear plate from around it. There is what looks like a brass plumbing valve to the bottom right of it, not on the pto housing but forward of it, next to it. My only guess is that it allows one to drain hydraulic fluid out. I have run into some postings asking how to get operator/service manuals, but haven't seen where they may be? Is there any pictures anyone knows of of details of the dash area and rear end area? This one has 'dash' apart and wires crossing around tractor to hotwire it to run. I have no idea what is supposed to be where or what the wiring diagram is. The generator has been replaced with a chrysler alternator that appears to not be working. Is there supposed to be a draw bar? This has a half ring in the back with 8 or so holes in it. If it did, what size is it supposed to be and how was it attached? This does look like one used to be there. Any help on the above would be appreciated. Thanks in advance and for the past help.
