On my 1960 FPM (Non live PTO)I have just removed the primary gear box to replace a broken up roller bearing. I all so have a spare Live PTO box in better condition plus upper shaft and output gear. The question is "What are the implications of replacing the old box with the other one and how easy is it to obtain a two part clutch here in the UK (South)?

If the 'Old 20 Tractor Parts Co.' don't have what you need, Pocock Tractor Parts probably will - and, just thinking about it, they are a lot nearer to you - Shaftesbury, Dorset. 01747 828272.

You may have to wait until the current F&M problem isover, though - but it's worth giving them a ring.

I all ready deal with Pocock's And I am currently awaiting some other spares F&M permitting. It's just that I have this live PTO gear box which is in really good nick. Pity to waste it!

Xris,

Think you may have a bit of a job converting. I do not have a parts book in front of me but I seem to remember that the gear in the lower pto housing may not be the same.

The clutch unit is extreemly costly and parts to service them are running out so one from a breakers which might be worn is not a good bet.

As I'm having a few problembs re fitting my old gear box back into the tractor posibly due to the small bearing seat on the upper shaft being bruised from previous peoples visits and as I'm currently awaiting another new roller bearing to fit on a hopefully dressed up shaft I think I'll for get the conversion possibility.
