How is the dieselpump on my 1960 Dexta lubricated. Is it a separat reservoir inside the pump, or is the oil reservoir in the pump in conjunction with the engine oil? My instruction book says that I have to change the oil in the pump every 600 hours, but I can`nt find neighter the the drain plug nor the fill plug. The pump bear the name Simms.

The large square headed plug in front of the injector line connection body, just above the kill lever is the filler plug, then just forwards of the manual supply pump is a 1/2" headed plug, it's just above and rear of the throttle lever. This is the fill level plug.

in the very bottom of the pump body there should be a 1/2" headed drain plug.

After you have it drained you only fill til oil comes out the side plug level with whatever oil you use in the engine crankcase.

The pump oil needs changed everytime you change the engine oil.

If you still can't find the plugs holler back. I have a pic scanned but the ytmag.email is down and I can't put it into photopoint at this time.

I have now examined the diesel pump on my Dexta thoroughly, and I have established that it has no fill nor drain plug. I have an english and a sweedish instruction manual which both describe the same pump as you described to me. Is it possible that the Dexta came with two different pump models. I state that my tractor is 100 % original from the factory in England.

Yes it is possible that you have the pnuematic govornored pump. That pump lubricated from the diesel fuel as it pumps,

The Simms Minimec pump with internal mechanical govornors was the only model to have and oil reservoir.
