Don, Would like to chat with you and get your opinon on a few things as it appears you have much knowledge with Fordsons and you are close by. I have a Fordson Power Major that I believe is an Industrial model. It has a large blade and a backhoe, but no three point. The tractor is in great shape and the engine runs like a champ. I have used it for several projects including building a few roads, septic tank installs and so on. My dilemma is that I find myself needing a loader and three point as with our small horse operation we could use a tractor of this nature. But I hate to give-up this tractor as she is capable of some awesome work w/ the blade and back-hoe. I also need some parts now and then and right now the steering box is out and I am looking for a differnt one. Anyway my questions are this:
1. Being a welder could a guy put a loader on this machine. What would be compatiable ?
2. Do you have any good lines on parts or parts tractors in our area as I could use a few for my FPM (sterring box)
3. It looks like the hoe is removable on this FPM. Could a guy put some type of three point on this and still convert it back to the back-hoe as needed.
4. Oil Change recommendation(type)
5. Are parts on my FPM( other than engine)compatiable with other Majors and Super Majors)? I am some what attached to the tractor as she has worked hard for me on a couple projects and always starts, even after sitting for months! I figure she has paid for herself with the back-hoe as I don't have to hire this work out. But the wife wants to sell her so that she has something to use around the farm. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks, Joe in Capsper

Don,

I have a Fordson Power Major which i believe is an industrial spec (ex RAF). I Dont really know much more. My brakes are on the rear axle's and are about 20" in diameter and there are no hydraulics. The tractor does 30mph +.

I was wandering if you know any more about the industrial models?

I look forward hearing from you.
