Can anyone advise where I might buy, a new bush for the Clutch pedal. Circular shaft diameter seems to be around 28.50 mm ( probably 1 and 1/8 inch ).
The alternative is of course, to turn one up, but I thought I might attempt to buy one, if they are still available. What is the inside diameter of a new bush ??

Les, we used to be able to purchase "dufor bushes" which were terrific for the old imperial stuff. I think they may now be called "fraser bushes" You could buy them in different lengths, and just cut them to fit what ever you were bushing. Were quite cheap and fitted very well.
Ask at CBC or another reputable bearing supplier, they should be able to help. For the size of the pin, see if you can measure an unmarked part of the pin, or someone else on the forum may be able to help. Cheers, Rex

Hi Les, We have just done the same. Our local engineer turned up a bush and also had to build up cross shaft. We checked our old stocks but haven't had original bushes for a long time. Regards Leo

Leo,
Thanks.
Initially I was not going to bother building up the shaft ( mine also has wear, and should be repaired ). Does the shaft simply remove easily from the Clutch/Gearbox housing, or can something come adrift inside, if I remove the shaft. I certainly do not want to break the Engine/Transmission connection just to rebuild a small amount of wear on the clutch pedal shaft.

Regards,

Les Taylor.

Hi Les, The brake/clutch pedal cross shaft is removed by removing a wheel and taking brake actuator off LH side and 2 brake pedals on RH side. There is two woodruff keys on either side - slide shaft out. There is nothing fixed to the shaft inside transmission. Would suggest you put two new seals on either side while you have shaft out (In stock here) You will need to drain rear axle oil only not gearbox before removal. Hope this helps. Regards, LEO
