I have recently "inherited" a Fordson Dexta Tractor and am trying to find out what exactly I have. It sat unused for a number of years but I have managed to get it running. It has a front-end loader (installed by Dual in South Dakota) and a 3-point/PTO. It's a three cyl diesel and has a few problems. I'd like to find out the year and model so I can try and locate operator and maintenance manuals. Numbers I have found:
- On the side of the transmission housing; 957E 7005 T4 N2
- On the engine block; 2GKN1?72 (? means I can't make it out) 002800987

The body is blue with "Fordson Dexta" on chrome plates on both sides of the engine covers.

Any help in identifying the year and model plus where to get manuals will be most appreciated!

David: If your serial number is accurate and complete... you have a 1958 Dexta. This was in all practical purpose.. the first production year of the Dexta.

Look in the upper left hand corner of your screen on this page... click on manuals and then select "Ford" and search for Dexta. You should be able to get a Operator's Manual reprint from vendors who help support this site.
