Hello Burrhead

Can you tel me the location of the oil pressure switch on my dexta? they do not talk about that in my fo-15 manual. I check And I can't find it, maybe the old owner put a plug in place or I don't
look for the wright shape. I am looking for someting similar to the one on a diesel car or light truck. My light wire is not connect so I can't follow it.

best Regards
Jack.c

Just to the rear the fuel injector pump, and just a little lower. It's only about the size of one joint of your middle finger and sticks straight outwards toward you below the fuel filter.

Hello Jack I get the 2" gauges and replace the light with a mechanical gauge. Ford or Perkins can get you a new sending unit, but I don't trust them anyways.

The electrical unit is made to light up when the oil pressure drops to 7 to 9 psi.

The crankshaft bearings will start to score and gald up before the light comes on.

It is possible to burn the crankshaft out of this engine before the warning light comes on.

Look on the bright side Jack one day you'll have a new Dexta.

Bon chance et abiento. Jerry

Yessir the normal operating pressure should be around 40 psi with engine warm at 2000 rpm's.

It should run about 20 psi with the engine warm and at idle speed.

The oil pump relief valve opens at 60 psi so it should'nt ever run over 55-60 psi.
