Hello Burrhead

I couldn't resist to see my beast with more power, after looking at your previous post
I have two small question for you. 1 does this timming would effect the starting in cold temperature? 2- How did you get 20% more fuel pressure?

btw: brian trick worked like a charme I am able to use my front hydraulic w/o any problem now. "took me 25 reading of is email to understand.I was not using the right term.

Regard

Hello Jack,

Yes sometimes we miss what someone has said because we're using different terms.

I set the injector pump time myself but while I had the injector pump off I took it to the shop and had it set up.

He turned the fuel screw out about 1/2 of a round to raise the fuel flow.

If you set the time up in proportion to the fuel flow it does'nt make the engine smoke any worse.

We don't have very much cold weather here. I'm in South east Texas, but I can imagine that it would make it harder to crank where it's colder.

They are putting a turbo kit on the 231 Massey Ferguson now with this same Perkins engine block. When I can find one I'm going to add the turbo and see if the clutch will stay behind it. If we figured it right this will add about 15 more hp.

WOW ! you gonna turn this beast like a timberjack!

I finally got my book today, so I guest it should help me understand. after checking it I saw your point, on one of the answer you post before,
saying that we can use the pressure plug as an output for the hydraulic. If what I see is wright
this mean That if I use this port instead of the auxilary valve I should get the perfect output of my pump, assuming that my flow control valve is not leaking and also assuming that my relief valve is ajusted correctly.Am I wright ?? I do not understand all the flow but I was wondering about having no lost of the oil to the flow to my loader.

Yes you're right with your thinking Jack. You get more pressure too, because this port is ahead of the relief valve.

The only thing that you might have to do is add a cut off valve into the side plug supply line if you need to switch full power to the 3 point.

I don't have a loader on mine but I tapped this plug to use remote cylinders. You can use the remote and run a log splitter and the 3 point at the same time, and another use I found is to replace the 3 point top link with a cylinder and push a pasture renovater or aerorater deeper into the ground while still using the 3 point arms for control.

Thanks for the confirmation burrhead
I will use this port instead of the aux. valve as soon as I get that cut off valve.

good idea for the cylinder on the 3 point top link I am shure I will find a use for this in the futur.

Thank a zilion time.
