Brian, Following Your Suggestion, I take out the selectors side plate and take a look inside. Unfortunattly the cenario is as follows: - I found a broken rod of approx. 1/2 " diam. by 2". I think this was the pin that olds the handbrake plates in position not the main axis but the paralel small one. - One of the plates is stucked between the theets of the gears that moves the handbrake device.that's is the reason why the tractor did not move at all. - The gears are apparently ok! but I can not solve the problem with the help of bar. The tractor is in the field with an implement mounted. Do you think that with another tractor puling backwards with a forward gear engaged in the fordson, I could lose the gears from the plate ??(or will I brake something more??). The field is more or less regular but far from a workshop pavement. Do you think I can risk split the tractor in the field? The pin that is broken is pressed in the case or is screwed ? Can you give some help on the sequence of operations to repair this kind of situation and which kind of tools I need.
