Hello everyone,You may all congratulate me; the ASP is finally completely mine! I've also been busy working on the beast: finances don't permit restoring the hitch to original condition yet, so I spent the weekend cutting and welding, with the result that I now have a proper 3-point hitch, even if it is home-made. It's adjustable for level, and a darn sight better than the "ITS" system I used when bringing my rotary harrow home. Having a proper hitch on the tractor has revealed some minor inadequacy in the hydraulics however. Running the engine at a fast tickover, the harrow gets lifted all the way up really quickly. Then, with the control handle set to the neutral position... it's not many seconds (say a minute and a half?) before the harrow is back on the deck! If I want to drive any distance, I need to keep tugging on the control handle to lift the implement back up. There is a slight leak of oil from the control valve body; is this where I should start looking for the problem, or somewhere else? On a different note, now that I have the tractor registration papers, I see that the original serial number was 1337681. Another mystery solved. I may also be in need of some sympathy, and possibly a place to hide. The only implement I have is that rotary harrow. The only place where I have the possibility to use it is the place where we have (er.. had) hay about 2' high, and where my 'other half' intends to make a horse-field. Having just built a 3 point hitch, you will all understand just how much I was itching to try both it and the harrow... and... let's just say that 1. The harrow and hitch both work just fine 2. She hasn't noticed yet...
