Oops, sorry Tracy. I said in my reply that the petrol Fordson Major Model No. was E1ADPN. It should have been E1ADN with no P. Sorry I am getting forgetful.
Regards

I have 1 1953 petrol, I was once told it uses 2.5 gallons per hour while working, I know it is quite thirsty. I have an owners instruction book for it & also a spare parts list, 1952 which is helpful since it shows exploded views of a lot of the mechanics. I don't know what model number they call this english tractor, it might not be the same as your 8N which I think is a slightly different earlier model. Let me know what you think. Regards.

Istill own a Petrol/Parafin (Kerosine) version of this tractor and worked for a Ford main dealer for a number of years. The tractor was first produced in late 1951 in three versions. Petrol E1ADPN, Petrol Parafin E1ADKN and Diesel E1ADDN. The petrol and the petrol/parafin models were heavy on fuel but the Diesel version was very frugal.
My early dealership training on this tractor was on removing petrol and parafin engines which were scrapped and fitting Perkins Diesel engines for the export market, mainly to Africa.
I still have all my old manuals and notes if I can be any help.
Regards from England
