My '58 Fordson Dexta has serial no. 957C1917.
I know it must be an early one as my dad got it delivered in march of '58. (I myself was born in november that year)
Any wizard on the list that can track down a more specific building date? I thought I had the link, but seem to have lost it.
Thanks in advance. Fokke Fokkema

Fokke, leuk om 's een Nederlander hier te ontmoeten! Wat je zoekt staat op mijn website! De link staat onderaan dit berichtje.

(Switching from Dutch to English)

Based on the number you provided, I'd say that your Dexta was produced somewhere during the first three months of 1958. You're right: it's an early one.

Thanks all. In my memory there was a list that traced the serial number back to month of assembly, but Oscar's info is as good.)
From a quick look at the casting codes I gather my dexta was almost certainly assembled in early march 1958. The clutch housing says 26'th of february '58. The tractor was delivered in that same month of march, still warm from the factory so to speak. It was one of the first 3 dexta's delivered by Schukken in Bolsward, along with a Schukkens' mowing gear, that they produced themselves. My dad paid Dfl. 8800 for the set. (about USD 4000 currently)
BTW the tractor was put in my new workshop (floorheating!) last saturday so chances are the restoration will gather speed now....
(unfortunately for the little dexta, it has to compete for attention with 2 Mercedes Benz UNIMOGS!)

I nearly finished restoring mine (a late '59), just some minor things remain to be done. Mine doesn't have a Schukken mowbar (yet). Take good care of it, Fokke, it sounds like you have a really nice tractor there!

There is a list of Fordson serial numbers and dates at

Perhaps this is the link that you lost? Anyway, I hope this helps!
