Is there an easy way to install a hydraulic line so that an implement requiring hydraulics (such as a mower or chopper) can be used. It seems likely that there is a place on the pump I can tie into.

The pump is on the right side of the transmission housing and the passage goes up inside the casting. I drilled and tapped a 3/8 NPT hole in the passage. I removed the pump and blocked the hole from the pump into the passage. The next step is to take the oil pressure from the ORB plug in the center of the pump. Get a set of spools with open centers and power beyond plug to return oil to the differential (another hole drilled and tapped with NPT threads is the best way). You also now DEFINITELY NEED a breather

Steve: On the Fordson Dexta, an auxilliary service tap is located on the very top of the cast cover on top of the differential. This is located under and slighty to the side of the seat A small, push/pull knob is located just ahead of the auxilliary service tap. The threaded cap screw can be removed from the A.S.T. and your hydraulic line fitting inserted. Then, by pulling out or pushing in the knob you can direct hydraulic fluid flow to either the lift arms, or in the other position - to the hydraulic remote cylinder.
