Does anyone have any suggestions for improving Power Major brakes ? I am currently slashing a lot of regrowth on our hobby farm. I find it easier to reverse into the trees so that they aren"t flattened by running over them going forward. Reversing down steepish slopes on the Power Major however is risky business with drum brakes - they aren"t very effective. I have put new brake linings in but reversing down steep hills they are very weak. I realize that drum brakes are designed to work better driving forward.
Any suggestions would be welcome. Is it possible to upgrade to disk brakes off a Super Major?
Thanks
Paul

I dont think so. As it seems to be a different set up.

My neighbor changed his Major like yours to brakes that use brake cylinders and a master cylinder and he has great brakes, Not sure about how they hold in reverse on slopes as all he uses his tractor for is snow ploughing relatively flat driveways.

My 1963 FSM. has the disc brakes and they hold very good, Again all I use mine for is basically ploughing my long driveway in the winter which is not very steep.
