Hey Guy's I've been reading in the forum for a couple of days and I thank I've found the people I need to talk to. I just bought a 1964 Dexta and it hasn't run in two years. They ran it out of fuel and never got it running again. Any way I got it to run and it runs good but still needs some tuning. Aiso I;m having Hyd. problems! I work on forklifts and Hvy. Equip. for a living but tractor Hyd's. are a different story. I think after reading thru your forum most of my questions have been answered but I'm sure more will come as I dig into this thing. I am looking forward to fixing and using this tractor for many years to come. Daver

Actually, i may sound stupid, but we bought our neighbors old dexta down the road, but the hydros never worked. So, we changed the hydraulic oil, and it turned out to be very low. so we filled it up, and now it works. oil... the wonder-fluid!!!

I'm planning on working on the hydraulics on my Dexta, and it does appear that everything is self contained under the cap. I do want to know; however, if there is anything that I need to keep an eye on as I'm taking it apart. What are some of the things that I might mess-up? I've never taken any hydraulic systems apart before this, and I'm a bit nervous...

The hydraulics are quite simple to work on. Everything is under the cap which is under your seat. You can remove the whole thing, and throw it on top of the work bentch, to get at everything.
