I know little about connecting Hydraulic implements, I own a Super Dexta and have just bought a Parmiter rear loader fork with no hydraulic pipes or levers/valves.
It has two rams, the lifting ram has one hydraulic connection and the fork tilting ram has two connections. The Super Dexta looks as if it has one hydraulic connection. My questions are, is it possible to get a second connection from the Super Dexta? or do I need a dual valve? if so which one? and how are the three pipes connected?

Has anyone already done this? if so can you recommend an easy solution?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, here is an update.....still not working properly, purchased five new hydraulic pipes and associated connectors along with a used spool valve, (all very expensive) connected all up and the three actions of the loading fork are working but very slowly.
Seems to be plenty of pressure because the two breather nuts in the spool valve squirt out oil under pressure when I use the hydraulics. Have tried adjusting pressure with Dexta controls but when pressure is reduced hydraulics are inoperative.

Question - Any idea what the problem may be? Should I use solid nuts to stop the oil squirting from the spool valve or will that cause further pressure problems?

Any advice will be gratefully received.

Thank you for the advice, Richardinnz, I am expecting my 2 bank spool valve to arrive shortly and I'm hoping one will be a double acting service. Next comes the hydraulic pipes so your advice comes at exactly the right time. I will post details of the outcome.

Thanks for the advice Bendee, I have just puchased the spool valve and will be sourcing hydraulic pipes next.

Thanks for the information Bendee, that’s very helpful.

I have just seen a second hand tractor double spool valve with 2 levers that may do the job, it has a connection either side and on top it has two connections, plus two bolt head caps, and two bolt head caps at the front (may be further connections, possibly 6 or 8 connections in total).

My fork ram has two different sized connections and the lifting ram only one connection, does it sound to you as if the spool valve has the connections that I need to make it work?

You need a 2 bank spool valve with 1 single acting service and 1 double acting service. You do not require a release valve as there is one in your tractor. Take the pressure feed from the selector valve under the seat on 3/8" pipe and return to the backend with 1/2" pipe, using a larger return pipe will avoid problems with back pressure. You are in the U.K. so Vapormatic or similar sell them. I used to use Howford hydraulics up in Ayreshire when I lived in England, I think they sold direct to the public. Hope this helps.

Don't know,I'm in the antipodes, but it seems promising,My IT manual has a Dexta on the front cover operating a back hoe so they are about. Two ups and two downs should be adaptable, thats what mine has but the single fitting on the hoist will need some pondering.Blow some air through it to find all the directions. Not too big for the job? Mine works off a Fordson.

I have a Dalmore rear end loader same principle.Separate valve with two levers.attached independently to tractor. Line from tractor outlet goes into side of valve ,on top there are five outlets, two to lift cylinder, two to tilt cylinder, one for oil return to tractor rear end.[fabricate]I have a Fordson so oil return goes into recess behind seat.
