Scott -- We would need more detailed pictures to give a more specific date, but I think it's safe to say that this tractor is a Fordson Model F, manufactured between 1918-28. Like a lot of Fordson F's, however, this one has "donor parts" from later tractors. Example: The front wheels: The one on the right in the picture (stamped-steel) looks to be original, but the one on the left (cast-iron) is from a Model N Fordson, made overseas after 1928. The reason I say Model F instead of N, when an N part is clearly visible in the picture? The front axle is straight (instead of the bent/"drop" axle of the N's), and the coil box visible on the right (N's had factory magneto installed). You are right about the color: Fordson F's are grey with red wheels and black steering linkage, seat, toolbox, etc. The red paint on this tractor was somebody's attempt to keep rust away... As for value, if you can get it free, take it. Hard to place a value on it, because a number of key parts affect the value: fuel tank (one sold on eBay for $547 yesterday), manifold (can cost several hundred to repair/replace), any aftermarket accessories that may be present(governor, water pump, lights), etc. If I had to pick a number out of the air based on what I can see in the picture, I'd say $300 or $400... Even if it's stuck, go for it! There's lots of information on this site that will help you get it free, and most parts are available (if not cheap). They're a fun tractor and always get a lot of attention at shows, fairs, etc. Anyway, that's my 2 cents' worth. YMMV. --Maine Fordson. P.S. -- Feel free to ask any follow-up questions that may occur to you.
