Just picked up what I was told was a 46 Super Major. Based on my research that is not possible. Block Serial numbers are S752994, which I believe the "S" means the diesel engine was replaced. This number was located over the injectro pump under teh #1 injector. It has a Simms injector pump and the casting code on the tranny is A31X and the rear Dif is A27X. I think these equal a Jan 55 production date. Therefore, it is probably a New Major. Is that correct?

I"m having the same trouble with my tractor. I know it"s a Super Major or Ford 5000, but I haven"t figured out which yet. The # on my block is S204111, which doesn"t match up to any serial numbers I"ve found. If you figure yours out, please let me know.

That No appears to be April 1964 (not 1946) MTF

You're right, those parts were cast in Jan. '55. The tractor was probably put together shortly after that. I think that the S prefix on the engine means that it was a power unit for something besides a Fordson tractor, so the engine was replaced at some time.
