Hi everyone - new to this board, having just finished fixing up a grey fergie, we"re onto a blue diesel dexta. Now this tractor did run, though it was covered in black gunk everywhere and was badly in need of tidying up. The previous owner used to start it with a certain amount of easistart, which having read through a lot of threads appears not to be particularly good for the tractors long term health.Having dismantled a lot of the tractor, we"ve noticed that the heater switch is missing and was wired straigh through to the ignition switch, so I"m guessing that"s why they had trouble starting it..... I intend the replace the switch (if I can actually find one in the UK, they seem to be pretty rare), but my question is how much damage would easistart have done to the insides of the engine. I"m hesitant to start dismanting the engine block if I don"t have to, but I guess I"d rather do it now than later if there"s likely to be things to fix. Any help gratefull received, thanks, Matt
