Super Major Clutch Issues

I have a 1962 Super Major Diesel with out live power, I am having clutch problems.
A year ago I had problems with it not engaging. I took it to a shop and they cleaned the brakes and did some adjusting and it has worked until now > What do the brakes have to do with the clutch?

> The release point for the clutch has moved around and is now close to the bottom of the pattern > Can the release point be adjusted like on a car or truck? If so how

> The clutch does not want to disengage very well, if you work with it and get it in gear it will stop and start the movement of the tractor just fine.
> If you shift quickly you can change gears when disengaged.

Any suggestion would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Mike

Not sure about the single stage clutch, but on the dual there is no way to adjust without spliting the tractor. Once split you can adjust the fingers on the pressure plate. They each have a screw which goes in for more pedal or out for less pedal. It is a real guessing game, and once you have the tractor appart you might as well replace the clutch and bearrings for new so as to not have to do it again.
good luck

The Clutch is gone! Prepare to break the tractor and replace! Sounds like the rivets are loose. You sure you only have a single clutch? Single clutch is an easy job. But if you do have a duplex clutch expect this to be expensive job. Very few Supers had a single clutch!

I guess you are saying there is no adjustment on a Ford Super Major clutch?

The upper link rod has a threaded fork that can be turned either way to adjust foot pedal throw.
