does this mean that the wheels/rims should be grey silver also? Not orange/red?

Perhaps the export tractors had blue grilles, certainly not UK ones. Wheels were always orange except for the late New performance majors(63/64) which were grey.

I am in the U.S and I have a Power Major also. My grills and wheels are white and the rest of the tractor is empire blue. My FPM was at the end of run for the FPM so that might have something to do with it. I have also noticed that most of the Majors that were shipped to the U.S. do not have cast front rims and the rear rims are similar to mine. This might have something to do with it also. It is hard to tell what was done almost fourty years ago.

My FPM:

Beautiful U.K Major:

third party image I have looked at lots of pictures of Majors and the whole tractor should be painted blue. The wiring, injection pump, hoses etc were all painted from the factory. I personally do not like that but that is what would be considered a "correct" paint job.

If you do some research on this site majorman talks about being at the factory and seeing them being painted before they were shipped out.

There is an origial, un-touched FPM just down the road from me, the grills are silver on that. Before I left England for down under one of my coustomers showed me a coulor photo of his FPM coming down the ramps off the dealers lorry, that had blue grills AND exhaust! Paint them any thing you want as long as it isnt orange!
