I have a Fordson Dexta with a Perkins disel. I have always had starter problems. Can anyone tell me if a Ford 3000 Disel starter would fit ?
Thanks. Joe Rhodes

Have a super Dexta and bought a US starter and installed a push button. Not up to restoration standards, but it works just fine- really spins it!. JK

Yes it will work just fine. I converted mine over to the starter for the 3000 and have had no problems since. It works a lot better than the original.

I don't think it will. The starter has an integreal solenoide and fits on the opposite side on the 3000. Although they can be fitted on the Major series, I think you will find the steering arms on the dexta may foul it.

By the way, you do NOT have a Perkins engine in your Dexta. It is a Ford engine made in Dagenham but assembled by Perkins and was a joint design.
