I am working on a Fordson Dexta (unsure of the year). Anyway the wiring has been hacked up on it and nothing works. It is a 12-volt positive ground system with a generator. I was going to change it to a Chevrolet alternator for simplicity, but when I checked the generator without a voltage regulator it is putting out 22 volts at half throttle. What I need to know is how to rewire the voltage regulator. The terminals on it are labeled A1, A, B, C, D, E. I need to know where the wires from each terminal goes. Also this tractor has sit unstarted for 3 years. It has 3 year old diesel in it. It is somewhat hard to start, and when it does start it white smokes very bad and after a while it clears up quit a bit. Its not really cold enough for it to do this because of the weather. Is this problem likely due to old fuel or maybe valve stem oil seals? I can be reached at ppgbodyman@hotmail.com. Thanks for any help. Greg
