hey majorman, pos or neg ground super major

hey majorman , is it pos or negative ground for a 12 volt lucas genny , with 12 volt lucas VR,super major 5000, also would you recommend putting 2 batteries BACK in or will I get bywith one, thanks pat.

Major's came with Positive ground all through the models.

As long as you polarise the generator by taking a wire from the output terminal of the battery to the field terminal of the generator you will be OK either way round.

If you have fitted an alternator it should be negative ground.

She originally had two six volt batteries to increase battery capacity and enable you to still lift the damn things, (originally they had one huge battery that was very heavy). Modern battery design allows you to get the same power from a smaller unit so a single battery would be OK.
