Is there a known serial number point where the ladder side radiators were stopped? I am pretty sure they were only used into 1919, but unaware of the actual stopping point. Thanks for any help!

Hi, The ladder type radiator sides went into 1919. There is no specific cutoff date or serial number. As with other Fordson parts, they were put on the tractors until used up. I've seen factory photos where both types were lined up together for shipping. As to the transition time it seems to have been around May-June 1919. I have had a number of ladder side Fordsons and I base this on my own and others that I've seen over the years. I have a Feb. 1919 with ladder sides and owned a Jun 1919 that did not have them. They seem to be mixed around midyear on original tractors. Butch

Thanks very much Butch! I have a chance to buy one of these that's an older restoration, and I am not an expert on Fordsons by any stretch of the imagination. I know a few things to look for to make sure it's early, but the ladder sides were something that I knew little about. I appreciate your help.
