I have just looked at a Fordson Super Dexta 3cyl that I quess is a 1963 model. It starts and runs fairly well, but the 3-pt will not come up. The owner says it had been working, but one day he started it up and it wouldn"t work. The tractor has sat a lot and used only for haying.
Anything I should look for that could have caused this?

The normal trouble is that you can't get it to come down! Have you checked the oil? Square headed plug under the hydraulic levers on the rght side of the transmission. NOT the screwdriver head.

Next thing to check would be was there any pressure or oil from the pump. If you have an auxillary service unit, pull the knob out and see if the engine note changes with the lift lever fully raised. If not it could be a faulty pump or "O" rings.

You may have to take the top off the lift but this is no bad job. There is a lot of infoemation on the hydraulics in the archives on the site benny2 reccomended.
