Can anyone tell me how to figure out what model fordson major tractor i have got? Mine has Fordson major on the front and the side pulley. It looks like a 1947 major but my wheels are solid at the the front and flat and solid at the back. Can i also get some advice on where to find parts near bris if possible. I need a grill a steering wheel a glass fuel bowl mudflaps????. On my wish list would be a slasher. Did this tractor run any other tools? This is my first tractor project and any info anyone could send would be great. Any ideas on finding workshop manual? Regards jess.

Look at>Link
There>Link is lots of information about the E27N and even a free downloadable manual. If your tractor does not look like the one in the frontpage then it is not an E27N.

Jess,
It would be a bit easier if you could tell us whether it is a petrol/kerosene, petrol or even diesel.
Is it dark blue or light blue?

Fordson Majors were built from 1947 to 1964 but were all different tractors. The first ran from 1947 to 1952 and had three forward gears and one reverse. The clutch pedal was on the right of the driver.

The versions that ran from 1952 to 1964 were mainly diesel with three gears plus a high/low and the clutch was on the left of the driver.

The wheels could bewhat you liked. Here in England they were cast front wheels for weight and steel rear wheels which adjusted in track width by positioning the rims on the disc.

MUD FLAPS? ARGH!! ;0)

Fordson is blue. Has 3 forward gears and 1 reverse. Is light blue at the moment but darkblue underneath and i can see red under the white paint on the wheels.I saw one at a virtual canadian museum and they called it a Fordson major petro is that what this would be. Also has mechanical pto on it. Do you know what colour this one would be to repaint? Or what tools were available for this tractor? Thanks for your time>>>>>

Jessica,
You have a Fordson Major E27N made between 1947 and 1952. They should be dark blue with orange or red wheels.
I have only limited knowledge on these tractors but a lot of standard implements will fit on the hydraulics and PTO. You should be able to find a grass cutter/bush hog OK but remember she is only about 30hp if she is petrol or petrol/paraffin, 40hp if a Perkins P6. Try posting on Oscars Fordson Pages,>Link
