My Power Major E1A has no visible Serial Number. However it does have the following nos:-
Engine E1ADDN -6050-G stamped underneath - 13167
Engine Block machined face:- R 61272 Simms Fuel Pump SPE 4A 75S 527 stamp marked underneath - 293848
The remaining Stamp marks refer to F20C - F28C.
Have you any idea what Year / Month and Serial number please.

The casting codes you give are for May 20/28th,1959. The other numbers you quote are casting numbers and of no use. The number on the plate under No.1 Injector sounds like an industrial number and there are no records for these.

Thanks Majorman. However, I believe the number on the plate under No.1 Injector is for a Replacement Engine.

John, In theory, replacement engines did not have an engine number. The person who replaced the engine stamped the original number from the old engine in its place. This is because the engine number is also the serial number of the tractor and if this kept changing, the documents would also have to be changed. This is not to say that it some markets things were different, just it is beyond my experience.

Ron, I'm doing good thank you for asking.

Thanks again. However I did a bit more digging found the engine is NOT a Power Major but Super Major but there is no visible Engine Part number [Ford emblem weld over]and due to the Modifications the Serial Number should, lie in the region of 1516238 to 1538065 which would mean June/July 1959 to Jan 1960.
Still no wiser.

It's the same engine in both Power Majors and Super Majors up until 1963. Look under the manifold just above the dynamo on the block. Should be some cast numbers like A12B. these will date your block. Check on fordson.freeweb.nl, there are some pictures on there about where to find the codes and what to look for. Post the codes and we can help further.

Thanks again.Thats where the problem lies. The welded Ford Emblem is over this Part No. Reason for this is we only get the Super Majors engine manufactured date. This engine has been Refurbished. I am still convinced that R61272 will give me the answer. The reason being this has been done by Fords.
