This is assuming that your tractor has a coil box and timer as original. Look to the rear of the engine near the flywheel area and you will see an electrical terminal. This is the terminal that provides electricity from the internal magneto. You will not use this terminal for this proceedure. Disconnect the wire that is connected to this terminal. This wire should go to the underside of the coil box. Get two wires with alligator clips on either end. Make sure you have a good battery. Connect the NEG side of the battery with one wire to the block to ensure a good ground. Connect the POS side of the battery with the other wire to the wire that goes to the coil box. DO NOT connect to the magneto terminal. If the coils are good and if the timer is good you should hear the coils buzz when you crank over the engine. Now, seeing as though this tractor has sat for so long chances are that you will have some problems, but I guess you have to start somewhere. Give it a try. Take a look at e-bay as there are fairly inexpensive Fordson manuals in there that explain all of the systems on your tractor. Email me if you need help., Butch
