Hi, I own a 1961 Fordson Dexta (standard) originally used as a council tractor in Scotland. E-Mail me at tackie@talk21.com if you want to exchange stories or information on Fordson Dextas.

Rachel, How's the weather there in england, here in so east Texas it's kinda mild. I recently bought a super Dexta. Where can I find a good sorce for parts, preferably in the states. I'm having hyd. problems. I believe the hydraulics are the same as some of the Fords, yea I know it is a joint venture of Ford and the British. Later..... .Jay

Jay I'm in SE Tex too. The Dexta is pretty easy to find parts for around Beaumont.
If your's is like the other Dextas you won't need many parts anyway.
The hyd is very close to the NAA Ford.

You will be suprised at the parts you can still get from the local Ford/New Holland dealers. (After they get over the initial dumbfounded expression when realizing you said "Fordson" instead of "Ford") I was able to get Head gasket set and exhaust valves from ford. Also, O'Reilly auto parts have good sources.

Good Luck,

John

Hi Rachel,

Welcome aboard. I recently bought my first tractor, a '64 Super Dexta. The first task was a complete rewire, as a mouse had eaten the wiring insulation, caused a short circuit and toasted the whole loom!

I'm up in Leicestershire, by the way.

Do you have a link to a parts supplier for 1958 Fordson Dexters in US? Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the site. The ladies and gentlemen that post here really know their stuff. Would you wave 'cause I'm only just across the Wensum in Norfolk.

regards

Brian
