Boogity TO-30

She's all finished. I've learned alot these past few months and lost a few pounds (of sweat) in the process. Thanks to many of you who helped a whole bunch. Please don't get too upset over my color selection - it's just my toy. She and I will spend many hours in the fields together. It's been many years since I did a complete engine overhaul but I guess I did OK, she purrs like a kitten and the oil pressure holds steady at 35psi. I took the tranny and rear-end all appart and did not see anything that needed fixin (changed as many seals as I could find) but I learned how to do it if I ever need to.

Thanks to all of you. I'll stay near this forum as long as I own my Fergy.

Boogity (S.W. Ohio)

You have one fine looking tractor. I really like your choice of colors. I'm planning on painting mine something out of the ordinary also. My TO30 is also a working tractor. You did a great job on yours. I'm working on an overheating problem right now, but soon will begin the tasks of fixing all the leaks, etc. You may be hearing from me.

Boogity, Your picture summary is first class. I agree that the digital stuff is neat. I am looking into getting a "dig" camera myself. I guess I am partial to original color restoration (especially considering all the work you did) but as you said it is your toy to do with as you please. I believe that spirit made America what it is! If there are others out there considering "straying from fergie gray" try painting your tin beige, the grill red and the castings flint gray metallic. It is very attractive and very Ferguson. (F-40). Or you might try light gray tin and dark green metallic castings.(1955/56 TO-35).Also nice and very Ferguson. Last but not least you could go with MF red tin and flint gray castings. Nice colors and very Ferguson. Lots of non gray fergies out there!I have made my pitch and I will stop!! On this one Boogity you be the man!! Good Luck and enjoy your tractor after what sounds like a very comprehensive rebuild.

Boogity you definitly have "yankee ingenuity", that is, you will try, push your skills and accomplish what you need to do. Congradulations! DunerWi, Backabout 8 months ago I seem to remember a post that said you could take all those casting numbers to a MF dealer and they could look up your tractor info., never tried it though. The best money I've spent on my tractor is to buy a reprint owners manual from a MF dealer, there's lots of info in that thin booklet.

Congratulations on getting it rolling.
From the way your ring gear is mounted on the flywheel you have an early TO20 probably below serial # 10282. I have an early one also with engine # 101479 but I don't know the chassis Serial as the plate is missing. However I do have a # stamped in the hyd. pump by the plug where some people might tap in for a loader. The # 2651 is stamped in a half circle right around the plug. You don't happen to know if yours has this # stamped there also. I have checked later TO 20s and they do not have a # stamped in the pump at this location.

In the last picture (one with the engine running) it looks like your throttle is wide open. At least mine would be at that position. (Maybe mine needs adjusting?)
